i'd find this really depressing now, but i remember thinking it was beautifully done when i first saw it.

i thought it eloquently captured two childhood traumas:
the first, being expected to make friends with someone just because they're the same age as you, and the second, having someone else claim one of your parents as their own.
maybe it's more sad than depressing... that's what i got out of it.
