i agree - i was just thinking about how perfect and terrifying vincent d'onofrio's performance was.

that was one of my favorite scenes, too, but the dvd at that part made my computer's dvd player freeze up :[

to saccharinee: i agree with everything you said; "no" to jennifer lopez and "yes" to the horse scene.

to moscowdisco: these shots are really good though, thank you for posting!

I second this comment, and wish to get on the bandwagon of J.Lo.-bashing, pretty please.

The visuals are seriously stunning. I can't believe that I avoided seeing it just because of the J.Lo. factor. Have i become such a movie snob that an overhyped actor in a key role keeps me away from amazing new films.

Um, yeah.

Haven't seen this, love V. D'Onofrio, though. myglock_yrface October 31 2005, 05:28:09 UTC
Some of the colours/scenery remind me of two of my favourite movies, Colour of Pomegranates and Tears of the Black Tiger. Both highly recommended if you haven't seen them.

i really think you should see this - d'onofrio gives a really amazing, terrifying performance, and even though the rest of the acting is mediocre and the story is a bit flimsy, it is so gorgeous that it deserves to be seen.

and i will check those two out; i love getting movies recs from you :]

D'onofrio's name sounds familiar. Has he done anything else of note?

This movie is so crazy in a great way. I need to watch it again. I agree, the visuals are superrrrrb. I don't know, I thought Jennifer Lopez was fine in it.

Oh man, I just looked at Vince Vaughn's face and remembered the intestines scene... and I'm feeling a tad nauseous. Now that's a powerful scene when you can just think about it and feel something.

the next still after that - when d'onofrio is laughing and clapping - made me almost not able to handle it, and i'm pretty hard to shock.
