Yay!! It's such a HUGE film in terms of its reputation. I feel bad because I didn't talk about the STUNNING cinematography, but as I said, everything's already been said before.
Omg Angie, I bought "Orpheus" at the b and n criterion sale. I really need to send you a copy of it... French reinterpretation of the Orpheus myth by giving it a modern day setting, and directed by Cocteau (who did La Belle et La Bête). It's so amazing and I think you would LOVE it!!
I TREASURE the films you've sent me -- I've been meaning to do a rewatch of I Know Where I'm Going! for a while now. And I TOTES snagged a couple titles at our Criterion sale. Specifically The Seventh Seal, Rashomon and Cronos. :D
Seventh Seeeeeeeeeeeeeal!!!!! Sooooooo much love for that. Definitely the first Bergman film to watch because it's surprisingly accessible and entertaining.
And IKWIG! Oh my god, my heart sings for that film.
I really need to review Rashomon.
Did you buy 'The Essential Arthouse' versions of Seventh Seal and Rashomon? I like that they have a pared down yet affordable line of movies as well.

Soooo looking forward to finally seeing The Seventh Seal. I know I'll love it just for the visuals alone. MAX VON SYDOW!
