This film is SO SO SO GOOD. It's exactly what a popcorn flick/pirate romp should be, and Orlando Bloom (bland and boring character notwithstanding) looks so much like Errol Flynn in this that I get all sorts of delicious nostalgic twinges.
AMEN TO THIS ENTIRE REVIEW. You've hit upon all of the things I love the most about this movie: Johnny as Cap'n Jack, the score, the costumes, the fight choreography, Geoffrey Rush chewing all of the flavour out of the scenery...
I really should rewatch this. It's been quite some time.
