Macbook or Sony Vaio.

I'm shopping for something I don't understand in the least. I've heard people say terrible and wonderful things about them both...WTF?!

So attention to all my computer geek friends: just pick one, please.

This is making me want to throw things.

laptops, technology can suck it

I'm a hardcore Mac guy so my vote should be obvious...but it's your computer. What will you be using it for?

Art and photography, music, talking dirty to Simply, pretending to be a thoughtful student...the usual.

I find that the Mac operating system is far more user friendly than Windows. Takes a bit of time to get use to it if you're only ever used windows but personally it fits the way I do things much better. Combatibility isn't the same issue it once was either with the Macs. I run a student edition of MS Office for Mac on mine and have never had a problem with it. And since you're a student, there are a few educational breaks to be had as well

I've heard a lot of great things about the Sony and you know what you're getting yourself into with a windows operating system...no surprises to be had.
