Well, things have been crazy at work and at home. My boss is off on vacation just when we are getting to update all of our stuff into the new company look. Plus, the back up receptionist is still out of medical leave so I have to cover the phones too. Blah.
Home? Well, it's finally getting back to normal (whatever the normality was to begin with). Maximus has turned the house upside down. Driving us all mad with his constant squeaking of the rubber toys. Especially, his now favorite, Vampire Rubber Chicken that he got from PetCo. You can actually see it in the previous movie. Last night, my neighbor gave me a laser light to keep him busy and it's been fun playing that with them. Willy is not falling for it but I actually got Charlie (the Basset Hound) to chase it with the puppy. I think it was more so that he could catch it for himself and spoil the fun for the pup.
Besides all that, the family survived Gustav. My mom refused to go anywhere and it turned out to be a pussycat anyways. As usual. New Orleans has never really been hit dead on with a hurricane for a long time. It has always been the outside storms and that's bad enough but now with the tragedy of Katrina, people are going to panic every time they hear that the hurricane is coming.
One last mention. Over the last weekend, I watched a very funny show on my Netflix called Little Britain. That show is hilarious. Especially the second series. The characters so funny and the skits that they came up with was so much far gone than Americans would allow on. That's one thing I remember growing up in Scotland. It was nothing to show nudity or have some fowl language on TV. It wasn't a big deal over there. There were a few of my favorite shows like The Young Ones that when they showed it here, they censored out a few things. Oh and as I was watching Little Britain, they made references that I remembered growing up such as Wimpy's, which was like McDonald's in the UK. Named after Wimpy in Popeye. Ah, memories. But if you haven't or don't about this show, do check it out. It's good comedy.
