The ACA, Again

I certainly don't expect a lot of my politically-right-leaning friends to read this exhaustive article in the Daily Kos about how the Republican party has fought against the Affordable Care Act with lies, disinformation, and more lies; I expect even fewer to think about it. It's less about Republicans in principle... lizziecrowe September 29 2013, 16:39:36 UTC
The cheif politicians in charge of this fear campaign were bought and sold by insurance companies. THEY are the ones who truly fear Obamacare. They've increased profits over the bodies of tens of thousands of patients, and Obamacare would put a serious kibosh on that.

The Republican politicians may or may not be in favor of Obamacare, but they are in favor of being VERY well paid by insurance companies to vote against it. They perpetuate the lies and disinformation fed to them by insurance companies regardless of personal belief or knowledge because they get paid.

Ted Cruz even admitted, after him 22-hour rant (which included the infamous 'Green Eggs and Ham' reference. I'm still laughing), that the american people will actually like Obamacare. In essence, he admitted that he's blowing smoke. Good for him, but bad for the fear-mongering.

The thing that always bothers me about this fight is that the people who are kicking and screaming the most about this are the lower income Republicans who spout whatever their leaders feed them. They're fighting AGAINST their own best interests, but they'll never listen to someone telling them that because their leaders are the new gods. It's sad, really.
