Y'know what, gun-rights-über-alles folks? You're correct. Guns don't kill people. PEOPLE WITH GUNS KILL PEOPLE. A lot more easily

The laws in Illinois don't matter when you could drive for a few hours to a state with less restrictive laws to get your ordinance. Straw purchases are a source of income to gangs. What is needed is a consistent national policy with the same law applying equally to all states, no more or fewer restrictions. That would make going elsewhere useless.

I have pro-gun friends and they haven't had any trouble getting guns so I'd hardly call it restrictive.

It's not gun control that's the answer, it's gun responsibility and gun safety. We need to start pushing for laws to enforce gun safety but the NRA is against that too because that would impact their membership rates.

If it were up to me, a gun owner would be responsible for everything that gun did. No more of this "accidental shooting" crap. And if the gun was stolen, unless they took a minimum level of precaution, they would be responsible for whatever crimes that gun was used in too because they should have been more careful. Except for saturday night specials, every gun used in a crime was at one point legally purchased. We need to find where criminals are getting legal guns and focus our attention there.
