Farewell, Marvin Hamlisch

Aug 07, 2012 10:51

Sadness. Composer Marvin Hamlisch, one only two people (the other being Richard Rodgers) to win a Grammy, a Tony, an Oscar, an Emmy and a Pulitzer Prize, has passed away at the age of 68.

What's your favorite Hamlisch music? It's not exactly fair to say The Sting, because of course that was heavy with Scott Joplin. I really do like his Bond music, and the song "The Spy Who Loved Me" is a lot of fun to sing. He also did a nice job with Woody Allen's Bananas.

I admit that I have never seen nor heard A Chorus Line.
