Amazon

I like Amazon.
I use the regularly.
This week, they are SHITE.

1. I ordered a book, to be sent first class, over a week ago. When it didn't arrive, I looked into it. a) They've sent it to college, an address I have deleted from the account, rather than my home/default address. b) It hasn't arrived there anyway, and they insist they can't do anything for another week, when I paid more than the cost of the book to have it arrive within two days, which it *hasn't*.

2. I ordered it again, with another book to get free delivery, last night. Thismorning, I looked at the confirmation e-mail and found the total was wrong. They had put me down for two copies of the first book, the one I particularly want. They would only let me cancel both of them, not reduce the number, and the only way I could find this out was to do so, and then select the paid delivery method for the other, now non-free-delivery, item. I decided that I would cancel that rather than trying to add a item to the extant order, and during the time I filled in the *compulsory* reason field of the cancellation form (about 3 seconds) the item status changed to dispatching soon, so it couldn't be...

THE HELL?
How can they send things to addresses that have been removed? I don't live there any more! It's kind of an issue!

And how can they send an order that's in the midst of being cancelled? People have to physically get the details and fetch the things, it can't be that difficult to lock the data so the order is inaccessible while that page is open!

Fuck amazon, if it weren't for the amount I'd lose in postage I'd return the lot to 'em. And I am no closer to actually getting the book I ordered a week ago... I think it's time stop buying things online for a while.

I'm going to pop into borders before work.
