Random Thoughts
So, today is definitely my last day of freedom, per se. As of tomorrow, I am officially a slave of the UCLA Orientation Program for the next 3 months. But hey, that slavery gives me a wage of $9.82/hr, and I'll be working 30-40 hrs a week, so I don't think the indentured servitude will be so bad. But anyway...
So I was watching The Real World: Austin last night. I don't even know what season number it is now, but I avidly began watching with the Seattle season, and my viewership began to drop off with the Paris season for one reason or another, but anyway, it hit me that the people on this show are literally my age.
Case in point, one of the castmembers of this season, named Wes, some frat boy from ASU was wearing a shirt that said "Class of 2003," and I was like, shit, before I was watching all of these older people getting fucked up and having enormous amounts of sex, and now THIS COULD BE ME OR MY FRIENDS. (I'm still planning to apply for The Real World after I'm done with school, even though it's a fucking longshot.)
On a totally different tangent, my brother Angelo is graduating from high school today. I swear it was just yesterday when I was walking down that track, wide-eyed and excited, thinking about how I was about to enter the next phase of my life. It'll probably give me the chills tonight, but it's cool to see that he's grown up (even though he is taller than me.)
If anyone wants to hang out whenever this summer, feel free to call me. I'm totally down as long as I don't have work. I'll be living in Torrance until September, but will be in Westwood for work or play mostly during the day time.
I ALSO NEED A WARPED TOUR BUDDY.
