It's cold outside, but I'm all warm, sipping the coziness of our little home. How wonderful! Quaffing large amounts of green tea with honey, and sometimes even milk! Reading books about the history of art (currently Stephen Tschudi Madsen's Art Nouveau), browsing through the Internet in search for more materials, and occasionally looking out of the window... just not to forget how fortunate I am to be sitting here, at home...What an overindulgence!
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland...
Yesterday in the afternoon, I went to Alfons Coffee Shop to meet up with Paulina and Edyta. We guzzled 3 cups of hot chocolate... yummy! It was biting cold outside but when I finally got to the coffee shop I didn't want to leave! Paulina is now looking for an interesting job (her dream is to work for Dagens Nyheter, seeing as she wrote for Newsweek and Polityka, back in Poland), and Edyta is studying Business and she is one month pregnant. She always screamed that she wanted to have a baby, but yesterday she seemed bit confused. Flabbergasted... Life!
I was pleasantly surprised to see 4 articles about Ryszard Kapuscinski in today's
Dagens Nyheter,
2,
3,
4. Swedes don't really know/ write/care? much about their southern neighbour. He was such a lovely person... It's a big loss, not only for Poland, but for the whole journalistic and literary world.
Onto other news, I rang to
Norli today and asked why it is taking so long for them to send me my books, that I ordered Jan 15th! It was fantastic to speak in Swedish/ Norwegian with them. Norwegians seem to be so sweet and always glad. I love hem. I guess I'll call them when I'm blue hehe! I'm also waiting for
Språkbruk dictionary that I ordered from
Bokus. Scandinavians take their time. Why stress! You'd better let your customers wait instead.. being their quiet policy, I assume.
I'll need to dash now. 4.30pm I've got a little fika (coffee) with my Brazilian friend, Katia. And then- Contemporary Norwegian Literature at uni. Have a nice evening everyone!
