ok sorta a problem i need help with
July 13th i move out of my apartment and in with mark.
but here is the thing- i was worried about how my roommates and i were going to discuss the first 13days of my rent for july. and earlier this evening they brought it up. they said that they want me to pay the whole portion of my rent ($437.50) and then the person who would be taking my place as their roomate for the rest of the month would pay me back half of what i payed....
but for some reason that doesnt seem right to me...
for instance- if they dont find a roommate until the 30th of july clearly they will not be paying me back for the second half of july. in which case i think i basically am screwed and payed for a whole month of rent in which i was only staying here for 13 days. in which case i really dont have the money to be able to do that. after all i will be needing ab0ut 600 dollars for the month of july for my new apartment with mark.
here is what i think needs to happen-
1. i only pay for the 13days- half of my rent which will be like $230+ , and they need to cover the rest of the month and have their new roomate pay them back (which is the same postiotion they are putting me in)
2. i leave by july 1st and stay with mark at his parents until we are able to move into the aprtment.
3. i do what my roomies want and risk loosing a whole half of money rent. which is money i absolutley need
it is a shame because in the last year i really felt like we turned into good friends. however, i feel that which ever option i choose there will be some level of animosity whether it be from them or from me.... idk i just sorta feel like they know this isnt going to be a good deal for me, and they are just looking out for themselves.. and i once again feel like if things were switched around and they were moving out i would be doing the right thing and not expecting them to cover the whole month
have any of you been in a similar situation, or could yu possibly give me some advice and let me know what you think?? I would appreciate it :)
