Quick and dirty update
I've been extremely busy the past few weeks with a shitload of stuff. I want to get it written down and if I feel like it, go into it later:
1. I took the DBA Fundamentals I certification exam and passed. It was tough. 90 questions with a lot being "pick 2 of 5" or "pick 3 of 6". Those suck mainly because of how it breaks down. If it's pick 2 of 5, 1 immediately pops up as correct, 2 immediately pop up as wrong, and now it's a coin flip on the other two. Also, they test 90, but don't score all of them. They only take something like 50 questions out of the 90 and score those. That's how you get your grade. Regardless, I passed. I can now say that I am an Oracle 9i Certified Associate.
2. I also put in my paperwork for the OCP hands-on requirement and got that back. Two more tests and I'm OCP.
3. Last week, I took the DBA Fundamentals II class. It covered networking, backup and recover, and export/import. It was a tough class and what hurts me more is that I don't have real world experience. Still, I feel I did pretty good in the course. Now I need to study like a mother fucker to pass the exam.
4. The moving fairy has hit my family. Within the next few months, I'll help 2 sisters and my mother move. So that'll keep me out of trouble.....or will it?
5. I'm pretty much the head of my team now. We've got some new people on board that I need to train. Then we had someone start last Wed (when I was gone). I came in yesterday and spent the day setting up her PC and working on her training. I came in this morning and saw an e-mail resignation from her to the company. She got a better job and started today. And it wasn't like I scared her off at all. She seemed happy about the job and I told her she'd be fine here. Guess she just went with the money.
6. I'm tired. Need to stop staying up so late.
Brandy's doing good. Thnakfully no problems there. She's so cute in the morning. I gotta get some pics of her and post them.
