things are looking up! - a happy post from yours truly

Oct 12, 2007 14:12

the cold from hell is slowly departing my body! the final stage was a wet and disgusting cough that wouldn't let me take deep breaths. but now i can breathe again! mostly!

i'm going to movies tonight! and i do mean movies, plural - chelsea and i decided to treat ourselves to a crazy fun-filled adventure of love, acid-tripping, hippies, and passion-crazed asian sexual exploits.... vicariously of course. in case that didn't translate, we're going to see both "Across the Universe" and "Lust, Caution." We're going to have dinner in between to keep up our stamina. i mean, cuz who knows what we'll be inspired to do by the beatles and shangai NC-17ness. [i think this is my first nc-17 movie as an over-17-year-old. Exciting!]

I did not get the teaching job, but they felt bad because they rejected me based on my lack of a car and so gave me a proctoring job so that i would be at hand if they need any teachers in hyde park! that was really nice of them, the guy totally didn't have to do that. but he said this way i'm on the payroll (dude, easy money, love proctoring), and then i'll be first pick if a better job opens up. w00t!

i got a letter from katie! yay! i shall reply to her soon [read: she should get my reply in a month....]

but what would a post from juliet be without a bit o pissiness? t'would be naught! i wouldn't do that to you guys. so: i had to present ala discussion group on "The Deeds of Conrad II" as told by Wipo (pronounced vee-poe) on thursday during my 9 am class when i was sick as a dog, and of course discovered the night before that the fucking book hasn't been delivered yet! i ordered that shit mid-september! grrr! i emailed the seller to make sure he'd at least got it out, but had to run to the library in all my sickly glory and borrow their copy before it closed, which i was able to do. but the most unkindest cut of all - the book came on Thursday at noon. ::hangs head::

it's time for my afternoon nap! i've been sleeping 12+ hours a day because i'd just get home after class at around 1 and pass out until 8 pm or so, do my homework, and then sleep from midnight until 8 am. it was very nice, but only because being asleep is always preferable to being awake when one is sick. maybe it was just nice anyway - my bed is warm and it's finally cold outside! of course, i can't really enjoy winter when i'm sick, but soon it'll be over and then i can run and play in my sweaters and scarves of many colors.

[my outfit today was also pleasing: i wore my orange and pink horizontal striped sweater that matches my hair ^_^ and an electric green scarf - teehee]

happy post, sick
