I just don't get it.

So, I'm on a few message boards full of pregnant women, and they are all obsessed with knowing the sex of their babies. They panic about whether or not the baby will "cooperate" during the ultrasound, they make up crap so their doctors will think they're at a higher risk and give them extra ultrasounds so they can find out sooner, and some of them ( Read more... )

I can see a few reasons for wanting to know, but the obsession these people have, and the things they think they'll gain from knowing, it just seems so bizarre to me.

Truth be told, if we had the option this time, I might have chosen to find out just so we know whether or not P and her sibling can share a room (I'm not 100% sure, but I think my state has a weird old law against opposite-sex siblings sharing a room).
Since the new little one is going to be in our room for the first year, we'll have plenty of time to worry about further sleeping arrangements after the birth.

We've found plenty of gender neutral stuff, soft denim baby jeans, grey and black pants, grey, black, and brown shirts. I went to a thrift store with a half-off-your-entire-purchase coupon and $10, and we got just about all the clothes we'll need for the first 6 months or so. I just want to get a few more not-white-or-pastel t-shirts that won't show stains.
When we got home and I was taking the tags off of everything to wash it, I saw that one of the black t-shirts we got said "Calvin Klein Jeans" on it. I was like "Yeah, right, as if our baby will EVER wear Calvin Klein jeans." Then I was going through the baby jeans we bought, and guess what? They're Calvin Klein. Heh.

Hey, can you fit a medium in maternity wear? I was an 8/10 before pregnancy, and I have a pair of black maternity pants with black stripes woven into the fabric. They're pretty snazzy, but they're a little too small now, and they've always been too short for me. Do you want them?

I love thrift stores, too! I found it's the best place to get jeans when I need new ones because they're so expensive at stores, including Wal-Mart. I also enjoy getting my kids clothes there because they outgrow everything so fast.

I wish I wore an x-small. :( I can't seem to lose weight no matter how hard I try.

That's strange about the housing laws. I didn't know there was such a thing. Nikara is 5 and Kenney is 7 and Nikara HATES to sleep alone, so she always slept with Kenney in his room.

I highly suggest http://www.sparkpeople.com
I used that website and lost nearly 80 pounds in a year and a half. It's totally free, and it's not the same boring weight loss website like ediets and all those. It's more like a weight-loss-centered social networking site that also has nutrition and fitness trackers and recipes and stuff.

I was a member on there before, but it didn't help me out too much. I didn't put much effort into it, though. I guess I should give it another go when we get into our own house. It's hard to do right now because I'm living with my mom and eat whatever she makes or buys.

Sounds like me, but I hold all my weight in my hips and butt.
