I am home, and alive, and all that stuff.
I haven't made a proper entry about this weekend yet because I haven't really had the time.
Here's the cliff-notes version:
I had a fucking fantastic time.
I took a (very small) part in a break dancing street-performer show thing, walked all over the place, waded into Lake Michigan, played in the fountain in Millennium Park, saw the Pirate exhibit at the Field Museum, sat at Navy Pier in the rain, went to an art fair (twice) and a literature fair, ate a vegetarian hot dog from a vendor (and let the seagulls fight over my bun), climbed a wall to get to a good spot to read a book for a while, went to local cafes, talked to strangers until we called eachother friend, spoke in broken Spanish to Honduran visitors into the wee hours of morning, spent some time riding all over the place on the back of a friend's motorcycle (which has me really wanting my own now), and walked all over the city with a guy who grew up in downtown Chicago in the 70s (it was really interesting, he kept telling me what the buildings used to be).
I also started and finished reading Memoirs of a Geisha, which was odd, because normally I can't read while on a moving bus without getting motion sickness.
More later.
