ugh, im so freakin tired. my eyes are burning from lack of sleep and too much warcraft.
Its hard going to bed at about 1:30am every night and dragging my sorry ass out of bed at 7:15am to help mum get dressed. Nyar, either i need to get to sleep earlier (which never happens) or maybe mum needs to start getting homecare in the mornings.. but then i'll feel guilty that i should not be so lazy and be able to get up and help her and not make her late for work every morning :(
ah well. Just the way life goes i suppose.
I have so much uni work i need to get done this week, programming assignment, maths homework, readings for the philosophy tutorial that my group has to run on monday. damnit. I love learning stuff.. but i hate doing the work to get decent marks.

The past weekend was so brilliant, Friday night a bunch of us went to the newtown RSL for a tribute night to elliott smith :D unfortunately the whole thing was really unorganised and a few performers were sick, but the ones that did play were mostly amazing. Such as Elliot Weston (of Welter) who did a mind-blowing version of Waltz #2. I love that song so much, and to see one of my most recent favourite singer/songwriters do that song and do it so much justice just rendered me speechless :). The girl with the flute accompanied by a guy on a guitar doing a cool version of Independance Day was really great as well.
It was not so great seeing those three old dudes mess up a version of Oh Well Okay, they forgot the words, were out of time with each other, and generally sounded pretty shit.
Saturday night, katie and I went to Bright Eyes!!!!! I'd been waiting to see Conor Oberst live for like 2 years. I wasn't sure how they'd sound live, they seemed to be one of those bands that sound great on record because they have a good producer or something. But they sounded better! (maybe because their producer Mike Mogin was on stage with them..) Conor's voice is just the same live as on record, the emotion isnt something he's putting on at all. You could see he was putting everything he had into belting out the songs, and there were points where you almost felt uncomfortable because his voice sounded so vulnerable. <3 <3 <3
They played a few of my favourite songs.. Bowl of Oranges, Lua.. but no Lifted, Waste of Paint, Halliaeh Halliaeh A Lie, Halliaeh or Arc of Time.. which is sad. Quite a few really old songs, and a fantastic new one that i wish i could find.. it was about how everyone belongs somewhere, and his place is on the stage.

Great couple of days, i wish every weekend was filled with that much good music :)
