Fascinating nonetheless:
do O-3's hold the key to undoing violent behavior?
The fact that diet can affect our behavior is not really news to me; since incorporating more omega-3 FAs and B-complexes into my diet I've noticed that I don't get depressed the way I used to. I still get my down moments, but I don't stay down as long or as hard as I used to. Flipping back through my blog entries, I see that I've had a number of mood swings or mini-depressive moments that went away in a day or even in a matter of hours. Previously, these would have been depressive episodes that lasted for weeks.
What's surprising is how drastically O-3 intake can change someone's behavior, judging by these studies--and the implication that our modern diet (and the issue of access to healthier alternatives for all) may have a more crucial and pressing role in public life than anyone previously anticipated. Food for thought.
Speaking of food... breakfast time.
