Williams Lake Pt 2

I've had a great week teaching games to my class of youth here in Williams Lake! On my way up I was told that the students were 'at risk'. Well, after this week I can truly say that the only think they're at risk of is of being awesome!! Not only have they leared their first 3d modelling tool, but they've learned how to create levels, enemies, cameras, animations, how to use rigid bodies... and they have been great students! Apparently a lot of them haven't finished high school. You wouldn't know it seeing them working in the lab tho.. I need to remind them that it's four and time to leave at the end of the day... if I didn't they'd probably stay forever!

I've been having a blast just chilling and laying low in Williams lake. I discovered Sunday that the local swimming pool is 2 minutes walk from my hotel, so I've been going there every night. The pool also has a steam room, a sauna and a hot tub. This is a triple threat that's often missing from Vancouver pools. If kits pool had one of these, I'd be in heaven. Anyway, when I was there tonight, I had no real pressure to get home and do something... So, I stayed for 30 minutes after my swim going in the sauna, then having a shower, then going in the hot tub, then the steam room. It's nice to kick your feet back, enjoy yourself, and take it slow sometimes.

The other night in the sauna, I met a woman who grew up here on a ranch. Her grandfather had this wild black stallion that only he could ride. They wrote a book about him. This place is awesome!!

Tomorrow I am skipping town and heading down to Horsefly (wicked name, I know!!) .. The program coordinator Pam here has invited me down for dinner, and to go horseback riding. I've never been on a horse and am a bit nervous. I hope it isn't a black stallion!

There's a coffee shop here called bean counter (their logo has an accountant looking bean with glasses on)... they have the SECOND BEST CINNAMON ROLLS EVER!!!
