EEEE! So, I got me a new PC for testing and doing PC-related work with the DELICIOUS side effect that I now have a PC to play Sims on. HELLO EVERY SINGLE EXPANSION PACK AND STUFF PACK THAT THERE EVER WAS!! *does a crazy delicious boogie* Harvey Norman, you ROCK for $5 expansion gap-fillers. xD
So anyway, the knock on effect of this was that I was all excited about playing - BUT! Im so behind on all of my own projects that I didn't want to port them over yet and then be even MORE behind. And so I wished 'aloud' in chat that it was my turn in one of the round robins I'm and then engram_au suggested that she start a new one and that I be the first round.
In a word?! AWESOOOOOOME!
All the rules and naming scheme (YAY MYTHOLOGICAL BEASTIES!) shenanigans are outlined in engram_au's Expression of Interest post @ pixel_trade, hence its also a pixel_trade legacy with all the rules that also go with that. WHO IS EXCITED?! I KNOW I AM! ME!
SO ENOUGH LOLLYGAGGING AND PRONOUNCING ENGRAM TO BE TOTALLY AWESOME FOR STARTING THS AND MAKING A SUPER PRETTIES FOUNDER AND LETTING ME START HER FROM A TEEN INSTEAD OF JUMPING HEAD FIRST INTO ADULTHOOD: LET'S GO!
YAY MY FIRST HUMBLE! I know, I know, nothing to get massively excited about, but I'm sorry I AM!
I remember when my flatmate first got Freetime back when it was released and he got the crazy Humble!Bug and his lot just FILLED with the gifts. I confess I almost wished for this bug at this moment. Cause then I'd 'legitimately' have enough money to do my normal thing and go crazy decorating this starter home. But alas, he just brought the one and left.
Not that this starter isn't prety impressive - from the outside anyway. WAY TO GO, SIMVILLE STARTER CASTLE! xD
Well, okay, so its more of a fort, or a tower. BUT DON'T SPOIL THE DREAM, OKAY?!
And who lives in this starter castle, you may ask?
Introducing the ADORABLY CUTE, PELUDA MAGICAKES! :D
Emancipated teen, and named for La Velue, or the SHAGGY BEAST that terrorized an area of France in Medieval times. The Peluda had MAGIC POWERS!
- Searing breath that could wither crops.
- Firing off its quills like arrows.
- Invulnerability except for its tail.
- Creating floods by stepping into rivers.
- A single strike from its tail was lethal to a full grown man.
- Breathing out fire as a typical dragon.
- Spitting out a powerful stream of water or acid.
HOW AWESOME! Though dude its whole tail isn't Invulnerable, isn't that super dumbcakes?
Peluda: WHO ARE YOU CALLING SUPER DUMBCAKES?!
Well it is! I guess this particular Peluda gets the better end of the stick, however, as she's not actually a giant draganoic with an ox-sized porcupine-like body covered in green hair-like stinger-tipped tentacles which erect into quills that shoot off of her body. Also, last I checked she doesn't have a the scaly neck of a snake, and tortoise feet.
Although, thanks to the magic of the custom hair bin, she DOES have green hair. Though this is less of a straggly mess and more of a lustrous mane of green delicious! HURRAH!
And she can play with the fridge! *bes massively excited at her first ever sighting of fridge playing* I'm sorry I'll get over it eventually ^_^;;
Oh so, see how she has HAIR FOR EYES in the reflection of her glasss? FOr some reason this hair did that with ALL of her glasses O_O;; SO I had to remove them. She's wearing contacts now, okay!?
*pouts at the lack of Peluda-glass-face action*

And now... Some proof of Peluda's ~MAGICAL POWERS~ It was clearly too cold to come outside properly, so she just stuck the bare necessities out of her house to pet the cute dog. ^_^;;
So I don't know which expansion pack did it, but MAN SOCIAL GOES DOWN FAST WITH THIS CONFIGURATION OF XPACS. See that social bunny there, pretending he's just 'one of the gals' in the park? Yeah this is day one. DAY ONE! O_O;; You think she'd get at least SOME social while at school, not negative social.
Although, I guess I'm forgetting what high school was like. ^_^;; Though I've never been to school as a green haired draconic poison banshee beast.
AND NOW WITNESS, THE INCREDIBLY FAST-PACED FREECELL GAME THAT I SCREENSHOT TO TEST FRAPS!
Oh yeah, you know that game was edge-of-your-seat MADNESS!
So yes, up until this point, all the screenshots were taken with the in-game camera. UGH! But I had to cause I couldn't get Gadwin or Screengrab to work. But it turns out that they WONT with Windows 7! O_O;; engram_au got me onto fraps though, and NOW I HAVE BIG PRETTY SCREENSHOTS TO WORK WITH! HAPPY DAY!
So the starter castle wasn't working for me, so I thought I'd move her to this house next door cause it had a doghouse. Look it looked like it wasn't a zillion storeys high. JOKES ON ME! But she's sticking with this house till it gives me the crazy shits and I demolish it and build on this lot from scratch. K? xD
But the doghouse, is staying.
Even if she doesn't get a dog.
And then her (second) welcome wagon arrived. All sims that shouldn't have generated but did, and all totally useless. Also THIS HOOD IS FILLED WITH ELDERS! O_O;; I was under the impression this was sims two not three O_O;;;;
So I made Peluda fix them all a little something to eat, and then she shunned them by going to sit alone on the balcony and eat two helpings of her fruit and yoghurt. And managed to spill honey-flavoured gummi bears all over herself in the process.
WHERE DO THEY COME FROM, WHO KNOWS?!
Messiness = Being able to conjure gummi bears. TRUFAX!

As Peluda is a teen and I was having ENOUGH trouble keeping her social up, I decided to avoid after school work and have her paint her face off. She DOES want to max all skills so that'd be an awesome knock on effect anyway. Woo.
EXCEPT! This plan backfires when she paints awesomely pretty default replacement paintings that I want her to keep.
This one is ~MOTIVATION~ for her to get her own cat and mimic this image. So it isn't landscape and doesn't spell out the motivation in words. WE CAN BE ALLEGORICAL HERE, PEOPLE!
Except for its kind of spelled out in visuals. *innocent*

Peluda brings this random looking teen home every day, he spends a lot of time smelling the air and basking in the glow of the blue butterflies outside her house.
And she pretty much ignores him and he does all of her dishes. Its an ~interesting~ symbiotic relationship if ever I saw one...

Thank the LAWDS for this random event. Cause man, selling her paintings wasn't going all that well. Last painting she got netted her $4. And though she actually HAD been waiting her whole life for $4, you can't really buy much with that... ^_^;;;;;

BUT! This week is up, so time to roll another challenge!
The first week I rolled "5. The DIY Challenge. No NPC's are allowed on the lot for one week. Fire the maid, the gardener and the nanny. Not that the nanny does much, anyway..." Which was SERIOUSLY CONVENIENT. I can't even tell you how much! And then for the second week I rolled it again.
I was going to reroll but I instead decided (and it was double checked with engram_au for validity - she said I could waive the challenges altogether until there was an adult in the house) to make up my own challenge for this sim week:

By this point (only about one minute in mind you) Peluda decided she was freaken exhausted. So took the headmaster up to her room, and stripped off to her underpants.

So he spent the rest of the five minutes pacing around her room and WATCHING HER. Oh yeah, this'd be the BEST private education establishment since the inception of altar boys.

Moments before the bus pulled in, she walked off ;_; BUT! Like the game wanted to cheer me up, Peluda got an invitation to go to the special Arts & Crafts lot, since this was my first time with Freetime I was SO EXCITED!
Except then she walked into ths lot. *headdesk*
So I ROYALLY screwed up these lots while trying to make empty hoods, even though I've triple checked and they're STILL in the main folder *sigh*
Even so, Peluda had no idea and probably just thought it was a lot of ~EXISTENTIALISM~ and so sat on the footpath and learned Arts & Crafts from THE MASTER™ with wrapt attention.

So anyway, those witchy skills weren't going to learn themselves, so OFF TO ONE OF THOSE GORGEOUS SIMVILLE COMM LOTS FOR YOU, MISS PELUDA!
Except then she decided that playing with a sprinkler was the most awesome idea EVER in the middle of winter. LOOK HOW EXCITED SHE IS! So I didn't have the heart to nix it from her queue.
Cause even if I didn't think it was smart, she totally did. And since for some unknown reason her temperature didn't go down, I let her do it for as long as she liked. ^_^;;
