The Sims 3: You Enjoy Picspam?! xD
HOKIES! By popular demand, - and by popular I mean a total of three people xD xD - I've compiled 18 pics of the TINY BIT of sims that I've been playing. So seriously there's hardly any pics cause there's been hardly any playing. BUT! I thought it was enough to go WHOARAAAAHARMAGADS about + the internet was down, I'm too broken to do much of anything, and I don't want moonlapse to think I don't love and adore his birthday present to me or anything... xD SO YOU HAVE TO PUT UP WITH BEING EXPOSED TO THIS!
HOKIES! So we open with the second ever sim I made in the game, one made specifically for the inaugural The Sims 3 Founder Submission post over at pixel_trade . SHE IS SO CUTE I WANT TO PLAY HER SO BAD! *hugs her* Actually I really want a same-sex pregnancy hack (god remember when I used to find that kind of weird and NOTPOSSIBLE!?! Now I've got it in my Sims 2 and the floodgates are open baby!! xD) so that I can have her and brilliantcat's Sidra Delaney to have SWEET SWEET babies together.
No one said I couldn't play my own founder submissions... ^_^;; xD
So this is the FIRST ever sim I made, the one I referred to in my first sims 3 post over in my personal journal. Verity Kittenears. First name by Greg, Surname because her namesake is the cat in his Sims 2 game. xD xD Here she is catching moths in the cemetary in Riverview.
I have to admit I'm OBSESSED with collecting things, I keep ignoring my sims wants to just run around and collect. IS THAT A SEED?! WHAT IS THAT MINOR DISCOLOURATION IN THE GROUND?! IS IT AN UNCUT GEM?!?!?! OMG MOVING THING, IS IT A BEETLE?!?!?!?!? HURRY UP AND FINISH WORK SO YOU CAN COLLECT THESE ALREADY *cues up 15 things on the ground in the neighbourhood when my sim still has 4 hours of work still to go* etc etc etc.
Its addictive you guys, gotta catch em all!

So this is what happens when you ignore needs, send your sims out to collect shit WAAAAY too much and then have them work their tails off at work (OH MY GOD I LOVE ME THE OPTIONS OF DOING STUFF AT WORK! We might not be able to control them directly, but I love the little minigame aspect of working. :D *is totes guilty of having her sims constantly suck up to their bosses*). They pass the HELL out in the street in a COMPLETELY SAFE AND NOTHING AT ALL UNTOWARD side of town.
Just to fill you in, at this point she was around level 4 or so of the Criminal Career track, and I kept taking all the work opportunities that meant she had to work overtime on TOP of all the collecting. All work and ALL pokemonz makes Verity a hobo on the street.
And now I introduce you to Verity Kittenears the Second. I was having a bunch of problems with my game - the installer had BROKEN like a broken thing, and even though the option for jogging would pop up for Original!Verity, she couldn't jog anywhere. That kind of thing... ^_^;; So I thought I'd reinstall my game and start from scratch. I had only really played Original!Verity for about three/four game days and I wasn't achingly attached so she went out with the ... Fishes? And a new Verity was made to kill a whole bunch of birds with one installation.
What birds are dead wastefully because I cannot eat them because of my unfortunate poultry allergy, you say? Why didn't I just kill some cows with stone? Or perhaps some fishes?? Om nom fishes... Maybe killed some grilled cheese sandwiches? *perhaps has a hungers*
Anyway! Her purpose was threefold: I was at jtph_jo's place and since I'D JUST reinstaleld the game I needed to make a sim so I could show her what the game was like rudimentary style. I also promised dragancaor that I'd make another founder submission for pixel_trade because we hadn't reached ten yet and that's the target we wanted before we posted them up. Also since I had killed off Verity The First with the reinstall I needed someone new to play with anyway.
I'm sure there was another bird/cow/fish/grilled cheese sandwich but I can't remember what it was...
ANYWAY, SHE'S TOTALLY CUTE Y/Y!!?!?!
She even worries adorably :D :D I'm a little worried to cause like, AM I SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYING A SIM THAT I MADE FOR A FOUNDER?! *stress* But I like her and I'm not posting her in a challenge or a proper legacy or anything so that's okay right?
*hopes*
I was reading one legacy which cracked me up SO HARD and she was talking about the fact that her sim always had the neutral expression on her face. I'm not sure I've seen Verity MAKE a neutral expression yet. xD
I mean check this out while she screams at the umpire on a sports game. xD You know what is AWESOME?!?! She's lying in bed watching tv, I direct her to turn off the tv and go to sleep. She pulls her remote out of THE UNMENTIONABLE ITEM OF HOLDING, turns it off while she lies on bed, then grabs the covers, pulls them under her then over her and goes straight to sleep. NO getting out of bed and then getting back in for her! EEEEEEEEE!! *was totally and utterly tickled by that*
This screenshot was purely to show that the work outfits are pretty much horrid across the board... xD xD She was in the second tier (I think) of the science career track at this point. Check out the totes SENSIBLE shoes. xD
AND THIS IS THE HOTTEST GUY EVER!!!
Okay, so maybe not ... ^_^;; xD This is Verity's boss, Gobias Koffi. The first two days of working at the office Verity spent the entire time helping her boss and they became best friends purely because of that. Well that and the fact that he called her after work both nights after hours... The third night I had them go out for dinner and he asked her to move in with her. I thought LOL HOW HILARIOUS and so took him up on that.
This lead to my discovery of the apparently common glitch of rampant baby theft in the Sims 3. Long story short? Gobias already had a son, but he's no where to be found. We're assuming a neighbour or the babysitter just walked off with him -- BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY DO IN THE SIMS 3! I kid you not O_O;;;;
Anyway This is his bedroom, decorated by Maxis. They have interesting taste... xD Also this is the pajamas he came in. I LOL FOREVER and have left him with all his 'default' outfits because they please me. xD
Give birth to one replacement son, receive a free arse check-out!
YAY FOR BABY! He got KIND OF his mother's skin, its a little fleshier than her baby blue, and I believe his father's eye and hair colour. Oh and his name is Tobias. Cause I'm incredibly imaginative like that.
It cracks me up that the infants come in little burrito wrappings. Upping their hygeine is heaps easier than Sims 2 too -- You go to change their nappy, you throw them in the air and spin them and their nappy is changed, not even the nappy popping out on the floor like in Sims 2 either. No muss, no fuss! And bottles come straight out of the Recepticle of Holding That Cannot Be Named and go straight back in too. Having babies has never been this convenient! xD
In case you wondered, no that's NOT a science career track outfit Gobias is wearing, he got headhunted to be a surgeon at the local hospital and those are his hospital scrubs. He'd been at his new job all of four minutes when he had to stop his shift and go to a different part of teh hospital to be with Verity for the birth of their child. HOW ADORABLE IS THAT?!?! He came straight home with them too. ♥
Are the Maxis team big Bullfrog fans? Or are a bunch of the staff from Bullfrog?! Cause Bloatyhead is TOTALLY from ThemeHospital. *used to play SO MUCH ThemeHospital in High School* LOVED THAT GAME!!!!!
PS? Greg told me to choose Cartoongasitis and it turned out to be Bloatyheaditis after all... ^_^;; Gobias didn't lose his job over it or anything but GOD his performance sucks atm. NEED TO SPY ON MOAR NEIGHBOURS FOR LOGIC POINTS! xD
Actually I have no idea if you even do that in the Sims 3, I've only had him look through the scope in the night...

WITNESS THE BIGGEST SWORDFISH IN ALL THE LAND..!!!
I bought this fish at the supermarket thinking Verity could cook it, but I wondered vaguely if I could put shop bought fish in the fishbowl on the coffee table at the foot of their bed. I pulled the Swordfish out of Verity's inventory - it was WAY MOAR HUUUAAAAG than the coffee table - and dragged it over the fishbowl. VOILA! TOTES FITS PERFECTLY!!! Never mind the fact that if you chopped the entire original swordfish up all the pieces would still overflow the bowl, "Stanley" still completely and utterly fits in the bowl! xD
WITNESS THE MAJESTY!!!! A sim, holding a baby and doing something else. In this case, throwing a birthday party for said baby's first!
ARMAGADS! Gotta love that shit! :D :D

A whole lot of adults piled in for Tobias's first birthday. Including these two. Orange shirt girl kept initiating dances with people and then looking REALLY UNCONVINCED about every one of them. xD

Shhh I can't have Apartment Life, okay? xD Oh, ps? Verity's shirt hasn't automagically grown and lost its sleeves, its the pajamas she transitioned into for her second pregnancy :D I've had her eat like SEVEN watermelons to try and get a girl this time.
I find it interesting that apples - which grow EVERYWHERE in the game, are the most common seed to find and that you can plant without having any garden points - are what you eat if you want a boy but WATERMELONS are what you eat if you want girls. Watermelon seeds are uncommon, you need level five gardening to be able to grow them BUT you can buy watermelons from the Grocery Store... BUT they're more expensive than apples.
What exactly are you trying to say here, EAxis?

Okay so everyone's all up in arms that the toddlers in TS3 are HIDEOUS things, but I have to say I LOVE Tobias and find him ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! Look at that face, so expressive and he's so PISSED! Although he's AWFULLY muscular for a toddler.. ^_^;; xD I'm not so pleased with the overly matte lipstick they've got going on for the women. Someone mod that texture so its a little more shine and a little less dry plaster please?! *hopes hopes hopes*
