The last few days I've been on a love fest with my job and last night was such a clincher. So a trans woman came into detox yesterday and was admitted into the female dorm but then a group of the women complained about having to share the dorm with her and how they uncomfortable changing with her and sharing a bathroom etc. The lady feels super hell about this and is and so eveing shift moved her into another room and the guys that were there are put in with the rest of the guys and she's just in the room by herself.. but still there's this problem of what bathroom to use. So I'm in charge of detox and am like what the hell and bring her to the staff washroom this morning and we chat for a bit about the the sitch and then I gotta go to morning switch over meeting. So I explain the whole sitch and everyone is like fuck those ladies, she has every right to be there and if there are uncomfortable with it then they're the ones that should leave. Seriously hearing co-workers use the proper pronouns and not do it in some false bravado look im saying the right words and actually really respect tha is her identity, stepping up so hardcore being like pphhfft this is a nonissue she's entitled to be there, that's how it's going to be was so so amazing. Also just dealing with it so good afterwards of talking to her and being like this is what should happen making sure it's cool then sitting down the whole group of women and being like this is unacceptable and educating people of what being trans means. It makes me so so proud cuz I spent the whole night rehearsing my talk, stressing out and gearing up to have to start a big fight, scramble for resources and poof they all are just on it and are so hardline.

So I'm sorry I haven't been updating here that much I think I just got stuck in a negative cycle of I haven't updated in so long that it's making it harder and harder to sit down and write something again but I promised Fancy I'ld write more and that's what I plan to do.
