Today
Well. Today I woke up with the full intention to finish my Christmas shopping and hang out at the bowling alley with dad. Sadly, things don't work out. Ever.
Shortly after my alarm went off we got a call from mom saying my dad had been in a head-on collision. She was coming from work to take me to the hospital to see him, so I leapt out of bed and got ready as fast as possible. She got there a while later, and we drove to Maryview.
Oh, ugh. But beofre I left, I kissed Granny goodbye, turned, and walked off the steps. DX I landed face down, injuring my knee and stomach. It apparently looked like I was either trying to fly, or attempting to do a bellyflop into the concrete.
HURT LIKE CRAP, TOO. My knee is VERY bruised, right over my softball injury. ;__;
When we got there we had to go to emergency, where dad was laying on his little trolley bed thing. His oxygen level was low, so he had to wear a mask. He had lots of wires strapped to him, and was wearing restraints because he kept trying to pull the wires off because he was so sedated. He opened his eyes a couple times and the doctor tried to talk to him, but he didn't understand anything, he was sooooo out of it.
Uhm, it was really awkward at first because it was me, my mom, dad's girlfriend, and her daughter. Soooo...it was like, something out of a soap opera. XDDD The girlfriend's daughter, Laurie, had to go to work, and Miss Virginia, dad's girlfriend, was also going to leave but mom stopped her, asking her not to leave because she was there.
After waiting a couple hours, me and mom got some burgers at the cafeteria and found dad in ICU. They moved him after the X-rays. They had to clear his neck and make sure the rods and screws were in place before he could be moved.
He slept more, we waited more, I got a 30-minute nap in, Miss Virginia left and came back two hours later, and dad eventually got some more tests, an EKG, and got to eat. They're keeping him 24 hours to watch him and will do more tests tomorrow.
Soooo...that was my day. After we left the hospital me and mom ate and got gift cards for family presents. I am now tired and in pain from my fall over 12 hours ago.
