CHARACTER INFO
Character name: Sheva Alomar
Fandom: Resident Evil
Point in canon taken from: after the end of Resident Evil 5
Appearance: Sheva is a tall well-toned young woman of South African lineage. She has dark brown eyes and black shoulder-length hair, which she typically wears pulled back in a tight ponytail. On her left bicep she has a tribal tattoo with the word "shujaa" which means "warrior" in Swahili. Sheva is left-handed, although as a trained BSAA operative she is likely trained to aim well with either hand. She dresses in non-standard gear, while keeping the harnesses needed to hold weaponry, she prefers sleeveless shirts and comfortable pants and boots. She always wears a necklace with a tribal look to it, as well as colored arm bands on either arm.
Personality: Sheva is a strong, confidant woman, unafraid of challenges put before her. She has had a difficult life, and as such she has learned to take every opportunity presented to her in stride. She's a fighter, has been fighting most of her life, and is less than willing to give up on a cause she believes in. She is also a highly compassionate woman, and those that she comes in contact with will see this in her affection for those she works with, and the sympathy she feels for those forced into unfortunate situations.
She isn't without her anger, and anger is what fueled her decision to join the BSAA, although a want to help make the world a better place is what solidified her work as an agent within the organization. Just try not to get on her bad side, because she has short paitence for people who bother her, and her sense of humor, while in-tact is more dry than anything.
History: Sheva was born in a small impoverished factory town in South Africa. Her parents both worked in the factory, to provide the best life possible for Sheva, and for a while, she was happy. Unfortunately, when Sheva was eight, there was an incident at the factory, and both her parents were killed. Sheva's uncle came and took her away, although he was unable to provide for her as well as the rest of his children, and she eventually ran away, in part due to the neglect, in part due to the feeble hope that her parents were still alive. She attempted to return to the village she was raised in, but she was lost in the savanna, and would have died if she hadn't been happened upon by a man, who took her in as his own.
He was an anti-government guerrilla, and when he took her in, she was faced with the reality that the accident in the factory was a biohazard incident involving the Umbrella corporation. Furious at the corporation for causing her parents' deaths, Sheva joined the guerrillas, and was with them until she was fifteen and learned they were planning on dealing with the very same company to get ahold of bioweapons to use in an attack against the government. It was then that she was tapped by those truly fighting against the rise in bioterror, and she helped them apprihend the dealer that was selling the weapons. In exchange, the guerrillas were safe from retaliation, although Sheva could no longer stay with them. She was offered a second chance in America, and she took it. After graduating from university, she went on to join the BSAA, first on a team before eventually becoming a field agent, and thus landing as Chris Redfield's partner when she was 23.
The mission she was to accompany Chris on was the most trying incident she ever faced, and nearly cost her her life. A town called Kijuju that Sheva was familiar with had been a suspicious hotbed of terrorist activity, and they were to infiltrate. what they discovered was far more than mere terrorism, but one of the former genius minds of Umbrella cultivating a new strand of hybrid virus, combining the Progenitor virus and the Las Plagas that Leon S. Kennedy reported an outbreak of in Spain.
Sheva and Chris fought their way through the city, into underground tunnels and ancient ruins, to face Wesker, a man Sheva had never known, but she knew how badly he needed to be stopped, and that Chris needed her to back him up. She would do whatever it took to take Wesker out of the picture, even if it meant she went in the process. She came dangerously close to just that, after a skirmsh in an airplane hangar Wesker grabbed ahold of Sheva's leg and the only possible way she could see to stop him was to let go of the beam she held onto. However, Chris wouldn't allow another partner sacrificed, and he saved her. Shortly after they were able to take Wesker out of the picture, finally, for good.
Example journal: Whatever this place is... it certainly isn't Africa. How on earth did I get here? I don't recall a crash, or... being drugged? And I can't get this thing off my arm. It doesn't look regulation BSAA and I doubt they'd tag me in my sleep.
If I am being held against my will, be advised that I am more than capable of defending myself.
Example tag: She thought she was asleep in her small apartment in Johannesburg, at first. Comfortable bed, distinctly lacking the sounds and smells of motor oil and burning ash. It was a pleasant feeling, one that didn't last nearly as long as it could have. Stirring, she opened her eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling. She was quick to move then, jerking upright and looking around her, unsure of where she was or how she'd gotten there. Flexing her fingers and automatically reaching for her knife she discovered it gone, predictably, along with all her other gear.
She then noticed the device on her arm, and giving a cursory glance around the empty room she grabbed ahold of it, attempting to remove it-
"Ow!" she withdrew her hand as she was shocked, scowling at her wrist. She looked around the room again, sliding her legs over the side of the bed and rising to her feet, tensing in preperation of any possible sudden assault. She would not be caught unawares, and while this situation as a whole was surprising and alarming, she would roll with it. She was just as deadly with weapons as without, after all.
