I love you Rachel.

I remember that day I asked you if you believed in magic. Or maybe it was you who asked me. We both just sat there looking at each other for a time and we both said “yes.” You told me about a friend of yours who worked at Johnny’s with you and how the two of you had made a pact: That if an adventure ever chanced upon one of you, you promised to bring the other person with you. Just like in all the fantasy fiction books we read. I said that we should make the pact as well, and so we did. But now you are on a different kind of adventure, one in which I may not follow. And it isn’t fair Rachel. We made a pact, both of us go, or neither of us goes. You have gone on the adventure without me, and I wish that I could have been with you to help light the way. You tread a road I cannot imagine, but I imagine you in my heart. I do believe in magic. I believed in magic every time I saw you. I will keep your magic alive. It will not end with you. And when the time comes, I will set out on an adventure of my own, and hopefully you will be there to help light the way. For kindred spirits should not be separated.

In loving memory,

Until the end of time

Your magic will touch me Rachel Coe.

RIP my friend. Love always, Emma.
