father's day
Today is a day filled with loving facebook messages about dads and families. I just logged on and was bombarded by them.
I am incredibly saddened by this because my family is such a mess. My sister just started telling me a story that began, "Okay so this girl I know just quit cheerleading because she didn't want to be a huge slut..." I stopped her immediately and asked her why she was using the word "slut" because I thought it was very judgmental, and she flipped out and called me an idiot. I didn't even get any farther than that. She completely lost it.
Yesterday, she complained that Concord High is now "full of Indian girls who smell" and that "the whole school reeks of curry".
The last time we spoke about Concord High prior to this, she complained that the old school store was moved to make a cosmetology salon. Disgustedly, she exclaimed, "All the ghetto girls take cosmetology!"
This is my 16 year old sister, but I hear similar things from my brother and parents all the time. It just makes me so sad. And every time I come home they just scream at each other the entire time or sleep all day.
Happy Father's Day! (my dad opted to go to a flea market alone at 5am and we haven't seen him yet) :D :D :D :D :D
