On Commander Fate's urgings, I checked into some details regarding the digimon seen with Kurata last week.
The digimon's name is Dr. Reginald Nise. He is a Nise Prof.Agumon, who once worked in an engineering and development company in Neon City. Records of the company's activities were... apparently erased, but from what I've been able to piece together, Dr. Nise "left" the company's service after they were attacked by a several criminals.
I think the Syndicate may have been involved, but... we already knew Kurata was in contact with them...
