no sleep

vegan chocolate cake!

ashley!
balloons!
friends!!!

a flight lands in dream land
but only for a few days
laughs and hugs from all that matter
pretty faces and hearts

and then the wheels spin
and the wings catch air
and san diego descends from sight
the clouds take over for an hour
until i can see the oakland lights
my mind wonders if my body ever moved
or if i remained ensconced in blankets and sheets
while my brain rode upon horses and smiled

i fancy thinking i creased the map
and met my home with a swollen heart
that continues to swell and swell
until it bursts and spreads over everything
and all those pretty faces close their eyes
to let my light in.
