Things to help educate derailers

Mar 06, 2009 21:02

popelizbet requested a resource post for people who want to fight derailing by trying to convince the derailers to stop it, already. While personally I wouldn't like this to be the focus of the community, I can see that it could be useful. Unfortunately I'm running out of time and energy for the evening, but I can offer my bookmarks on race and rhetoric. Read more... )

If derailers are going to be pointed to the post, I would suggest keeping it very short. Maybe there should be two posts, one for derailers and one for anti-derailment 101.

Anti-derailment 101 links were what I was hoping to aggregate, but not with the intention of inviting derailers here, more just to share resources. There are a lot of different permutations of derailing behavior that various people have discussed in various forums. My thoughts on it weren't too clear, but I didn't intend to imply it should be a major focus...but I at least put these kind of infodumps in my memories for Later Use, and if they're in the community's memories as well, it's also a place to point people if someone asks the question along the line.

edited to add that I will return with links when I'm on the computer that has my bookmarks. :d

Thanks! Sorry for being a bit dim... wasn't quite sure what the aim was.

No, no. Kate_nepveu also expressed that she didn't think this should be a major focus, and I wanted to make clear that I didn't either, but thought an aggregation post could be useful.
