So last night was...WINTER FORMAL! All in all, it was an absolutely AWESOME night and I had a lot of fun, despite my total (and I mean TOTAL) lack of dancing skill.
The first part of the day I hung out with Andrew and we were gonna see a movie but there were no good times and then we were gonna go to Golfland but then we got lunch and didn't have enough time left so no real activity was completed in that time. From eating lunch we went and saw Kara in her BEAUTIOUS dress! That she looked oriental but awesome in! And I told her how gorgy she looked and then Andrew had to race me home because bub...I had to get ready. Literally, from the very second I got home I was runnin' around getting myself ready and I told Andrew to come at 4:30 but he came at like 4:20 and I was NOT ready so I made him wait like 15 minutes as I frantically tried to pull myself together and then...I was complete.
OH EM GEE! For like 2 days Kara and I totally had him believing that my dress was lime green and orange with a sash that had small white polka dots and that I had orange shoes! We were crazy awesome! And then I stepped out to show him myself in all my radiant beauty and he was surprised as a cat but he could not stop saying how gorgeous he thought I looked! It was quite nice, to say the least. After a revolting bout of pictures (In which I smiled VERY sarcastically in) we drove to his house and took some MORE pictures. And then I had to get rolled all over with that stick paper stick thing...cuz Earl had gotten fur all over my dress as it was satin and he is a psychotic dog that likes to run into people when they're wearing nice things. Then when that fun time came to an end we went to Brittany Bingle's house for MORE pictures and everyone looked super pretty! But Josh was probably the worst date in the world with Prue, he didn't even pick her up or anything! We realized after about two minutes at Brittany's that Andrew and I had both forgotten our tickets so after pictures we raced off to each of our houses and picked them up.
From there it was off to Damon's. A place where I'm not very fond of the food, but they do have this awesome game like this restaurant we used to go to all the time in Maryland had so its still a cool place. Dinner was a hoot of all hoots...except for the fact that I'd been feeling kinda sick all day and at dinner I started feeling HORRIBLE. Like really, I wanted to keel over and just lie on the floor, twitching. For some reason in my mind that sounded like a good idea. Instead however Andrew took me outside for some air and I was feeling like a rotten bag of potatoes so finally I gave in to him and we decided to at least take me home for some medicine and then if I was feeling better we would go. Though I had FIRMLY decided that even if I was on my deathbed we would at least go to the dance and get pictures and dance to one slow song. We went back to my house and I took like 18 pills and Andrew ran out and got me some juice because that's supposed to help and when he came back he had bought me a white rose! It was so pretty and he was SO super sweet about the whole thing.
We sat with my parents and watched figure skating (oh the excitement) for just a little better and then OH JOY OF FREAKING JOYS...I started to feel a little better. I seized my chance and after downing the rest of my juice (Cranberry. Erlack.) I announced that we would be traveling to the dance shortly. I fixed myself up the tiniest bit and off we were! I was still feeling a little sick but I had some of my medicine supply with me so I was all set should the black plague come upon me. The dance was SO PRETTY AND COOL! The decorations were awesome and like bubbles blew at your as you walked in (passing themselves off as snow flakes) and each time I walked past it got all in my hair. First thing we did was take pictures. We missed the group picture which I was ver sad about, but perhaps I'll steal a copy and draw us in. Couple pictures are going to turn out HORRIBLE as in the instruction of my mother I showed my teeth and I HATE my smile. The lady who took our picture was really nice though, so that made me a lot more comfortable. I guess I'll just have to resign myself to the fact that I take horrible pictures and must have to learn to laugh at them.
Then on the the dancing! .woot. I am not a dancer, I don't plan on being a dancer, and I never will be a dancer. I lack all things graceful and when I try to "get jiggy with it", several attempts to tranquilize me ensue. However, I still had fun and the others made me dance at least a little. Literally, actually, as Andrew would often move my arms for me as if I were an invalid (Miss Stevenson moment!) The slow songs were actually pretty darn fun, at least most of them, and I at least think they went off a lot better than the ones at Homecoming did. I have decided that a girl in our group was and is WAY TO FREAKING FLIRTY for my taste. However I shall not mention any names, I mean that seriously so I wont say that and then go "cough*insertname*cough*". Really, I wont.
It was kind of a bummer though because the last slow song of the night I really wanted to dance with Andrew because thats like...what you're just supposed to do. It was really fun though because first Kara and I danced to it and then Tom and Andrew started to dance and so I cut in and took Tom from Andrew and Kara danced with Andrew and it was pretty much pure hootness. Plus I was singing the song to Tom as we danced and it was just plain old lovely. I was still kinda pouty on account of not dancing the last slow song with Andrew so Andrew pulls me aside as everyone starts to leave and starts to slow dance with me and when I point out to him that there's no music, he starts softly singing in my ear. It was the cutest thing in the whole world, I kid you not.
We finally got outside (It was SO cold!) and everyone departed. It was only like 11:10 so Andrew and I decided we would do something, though we were both pretty tired. In the end we just went to his house and after about five minutes of leaning against each other on the couch watching TV, we both konked out and woke up at 12:50. Which was funny because he was supposed to take me home at 12:30. But his parents weren't mad or anything and he took me home and I swooped inside and had to wake up my mother to unbutton the top of my dress. Funtastic. Into my pajamas I slipped and it was off to bed.
It was a wonderful night and I really really had a fun time. Andrew, though not the best dancer in the world, is the CUTEST THING EVER when he dances. I wanted to attack him with kisses when he was trying to be gangster. And when he was dancing/singing along to Brittany Spears....yeah well...ok it was really really cute.
GREAT NIGHT. VER VER FUN. JON'S MONKEY DANCE, BY THE BY, IS THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.
Today we're going ice skating which is way exciting and I'm very happy about it! I must now go and start waking people up because we're going at 12 and I like to be mean and wake people up 2 and 1/2 hours beforehand. Go me!
I like dances...but I don't like to dance. But dressing up is fun!
I did NOT just say that.
