I am so proud of myself. Last night after gospel revelations, I used a real razor to shave FOR THE FIRST TIME! Didn't need Ben to show me how to do it, either. Sucker. Now I'm all smooth, with a very attractive stubble setting in. Somebody wanna KISS ME UP???
Actually, that would be a pretty bad idea right now. My head is full of snot. I've been wading through pea soup all day today. I felt like I was focusing well, though. When I'm sick, it makes me calm. When I'm calm, I think things through clearly. When I think things through clearly I write in my LiveJournal. Isn't that great? Such a logical chain of events. Sick people use LiveJournal.
I've been lagging a little bit in French recently, but I've somehow found motivation! I went to Jazzman's (the late night coffee bar at Earlham) and got a Breve. That's half espresso and half milk. The woman who made it accidentally spilled a little of my second shot of espresso, so she gave me another whole one to compensate. Yikes! I was a bit jittery for a while. I read my book until one o'clock. It was a very nice experience. I took my breve upstairs to a sort of loft/lounge area and got a small booth to myself. Read a lot. One I got back to my own bed in Bundy, however, I had a little trouble sleeping. Tossed for a while, woke a few times during the night (morning), and woke up feeling like my head had swollen to twice its normal diameter. And that was a lot of fun.
There's a frisbee tournament this weekend called "Hucktoberfest" and I'm not going. I got myself involved with the Richmond Wind Ensemble, and we've got a concert the same weekend. There's also the March on Washington the SAME WEEKEND that I can't go to. Here I am, at Earlham, having never gone to a war protest, and the largest one in a LONG time comes along and I've got to play in a band concert. Suckage? I think so. Granted that everyone there is a great player; Hell, Rich Begel, my trombone teacher, is filling in this time too. I'd still really much rather be going to DC, though.
I've got some awesome pictures coming soon. Pay attention, kids.
Peace--
