Still tearing up the road

It's mid January and I would have thought my motorcycle would have been shoved to the back side of my garage by now, hooked up to a battery charger to keep it fresh until Spring.

I have yet to even buy a battery charger.

It was just at 50 degrees at 1pm today, so I suited up, donned my battery powered heated gloves, and took off for part known (would have to travel pretty far to find unknown parts).  I did a 14 mile square near my house, and then headed 15 miles east to a local mall to get a Cinabon.   I am not sure if it was because I was in a good mood, overly relaxed, or what, but I felt more confident maintaining a higher speed, leaning the bike more, around curves in the roads.   There are two curves on the way to the mall that in the past I had always slowed down more than I felt necessary, but fear had motivated me to do so.  Today I took them at a faster pace with (relatively little) fear inducement.  Yeah me!

While I was munching on my Cinabon, a young woman (20?) was talking to her boyfriend on the next table over about her horse riding/barn experiences.  I enjoyed listening so I purposely ate slower, giving me a reason to stick around.  I can't remember the last time I was on a horse, and while I do miss riding, I don't miss the associated costs involved in keeping a horse.  I would also essentially be stuck with the same conundrum I faced when I decided to sell Quintos.  I had gotten bored just riding him around the ring or the few trails that were near the farm property, but did not want to spend the money to get into showing/jumping competitions.

On a note about my last post - I found out the (current) status of the lawsuit trying to ease the rules on concealed carry in Maryland.  MD's Supreme Court ruled that the current (more restrictive) law is legal and thus no change to permits will be forthcoming.  The article did state that the case could wind up in the U.S. Supreme Court, but gave no indication of when/if that might happen.  I still have not been to the target shooting place yet (been at least a year by now).
