Parents... *sigh*
I love my Mom but sometimes she just drives me nuts. She had an eyedoctor appointment a couple days ago, cause she's had some problems with glycoma or that. She came home telling me she was fine even though the test results weren't back. She gets the results and she is fine, but whines that they want her to go in and do this every year. And health insurance only covers once every two years. So she's decided that she's going to only go if she thinks she needs to otherwise she'll go once every two years. She doesn't seem to understand why this concerns me so much. I mean besides the obvious fact that you shouldn't slack with your health when there is a somewhat known problem. Secondary is the fact that it concerns me that she will continue slacking like this with her other problems. She's a diabetic, 56 year old women with a pace maker that still smokes and is at least 50lbs over weight. I love my Mom and worry about her, and I know if it had been suggested to me that I needed to go to the doctor every year instead of twice a year she'd make me go, so why is it that she won't listen to me and go?? *sighs in frustration*
