Being a Beaver Scout Leader

Apr 21, 2008 00:10

Today I fulfilled one of only three regular obligations of being a Beaver Scout leader; St George's Day Parade.

As an athiest it's quite a chore having to get up on a Sunday to go walk around in the freezing cold and then sit through a church service. Particularly when I have a ton of reading to do for uni, all of which is confusing the hell out of me. But it's a chore I, begrudgingly, take part in to be a leader.

Despite the walk and service, it is a pleasure to see my little Beavers dressed smartly in uniform - in a situation very different to the weekly meetings. For that I know it's worth it. Even if I don't act like it is on the day...

For now

P.S. I've only seen the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants trailer 2 or 3 times today, not bad considering I watched it about 30 times yesterday - I just don't get tired of Tibby falling off a donkey.
