1- What was your first online fandom?
Stargate SG-1.
2- Do you have a fandom related 'guilty pleasure' ?
Badfics. Specifically, Suefics. I don't do it as much as I used to, but it's really quite entertaining to read stories that are so, so completely and utterly horrible that they're just hilarious. Of course, even with the hilarity factor they often make you want to tear your hair out and cry tears of blood at the same time. :p
3- Is there anything besides bad technical execution that consistently throws you out of a story?
Hmm. I think pretty much all my fanfic pet peeves can be filed under "bad technical execution." Things like OOCness, inserting authors' notes into the middle of the story (GAAAAH!), wretched spelling/grammar/punctuation, etc.
One thing that irritates me that might not necessarily be bad technical execution (unless you're an English teacher or something) is when authors start too many sentences with the word "and." I realize I'm sometimes guilty of this too, but I try to keep it to a minimum.
4- Unpopular fannish opinion?
Haha. Pretty much every opinion I have about Heroes is unpopular. (Except "Sylar is awesome.") Let's see. There is no such thing as a good slash fanfic. Incest is disgusting. Maya and Alejandro were among the only interesting characters in the entirety of Heroes' second season. Female characters (especially on Heroes) don't all need to die horrible painful deaths just because they have the audacity to a) lack penises and b) get in the way of the fandom's wishful-thinking slash pairings. Love triangles (or squares) are almost always ridiculously melodramatic and incredibly annoying. This goes especially for Juliet/Jack/Kate/Sawyer and Dee/Lee/Kara/Anders. Starbuck is not cool, she is a hopelessly obnoxious jerkhole 98% of the time.
I'm sure I could come up with more, but that'll probably do it.
OMG, I thought of another one. MUSHED SHIP NAMES ARE ONE OF THE MOST ANNOYING THINGS IN THE HISTORY OF FANDOM AND NEED TO DIE IN A FIRE ASAP. Ahem.
5- Is there a work of fiction you *wish* had a (or a bigger) fannish following?
Hmmm, not in particular. It might be nice if Babylon 5 fandom was a little more active (I wouldn't mind reading some good B5 fic every now and then), but considering the show's been off the air for ten years (*boggle!*), it's actually pretty surprising that the fandom has as much activity as it does.
