"I've waited a long time for this..."

Belated thoughts on Heeeeeroes.

omg.

ADLKJFALSKDJFLASKDJRE SYLAR IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED FRICKIN' STATES.

Okay, so I'm really, really slow, but I didn't figure out until his conversation with Claire that Sylar was masquerading as Nathan. (I blame my midterms. I had two of them yesterday afternoon, and they completely fried my brain.) Nathan did seem "off," of course, up until that point--he's always been a little powerhungry, but obviously not to the point of "YAY, GENOCIDE!" But I didn't think much of it, because heck, everyone was off in that episode. (Matt killed HRG and future!Hiro, for crying out loud!) But back to Sylar-as-Nathan's conversation with Claire--it definitely became obvious at that point that something was up. Nathan was sounding way more sinister than usual, and when he started talking about being special, I was like "Hey, that sounds like something Sylar would say...OMG."

And on that note: THANK YOU SYLAR for killing that annoying twit Candice. You're totally my favorite now. Well, you were my favorite before, too, but that's beside the point.

EVERYONE WAS SO EVIL IN THIS EPISODE AND IT WAS DEPRESSING. I'm glad we're (presumably) back to the normal timeline next week. I don't like that future.

I love how this show gleefully rips off X-Men. Obviously the basic premise is extremely similar, but there are some little things too--like the fiery!Peter vs. icy!Sylar fight last night (THAT WE DIDN'T GET TO SEE, BZUH). That was totally lifted straight from the Pyro vs. Iceman fight from X3. Heh. I keep hearing rumors that we actually will get to see some kind of massive Peter vs. Sylar fight soon. Here's hoping that's true and that Sylar wins.

Speaking of Peter, he kind of amused me last night. No offense to Milo Ventimiglia, he's a decent enough actor, but...he's just far too cute to believably pull off the darker, menacing version of Peter. That hideous scar on his face looked rather fake, too, which didn't help matters.

And what the frak was up with that whole Peter/Niki thing? Gag me with a spoon. Blech. Even Peter/Simone was better than that. Niki is so boring, really. I would think that someone with a split personality would be more interesting, but she's just...not.

Anyway. I am SO RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED for next week's episode, because we're getting Sylar's backstory, omg. Complete with an appearance from Mama Sylar! Because even serial killers have mommies. Of course, what I want to know is, what's Sylar's motivation for going to visit his mum? I kind of doubt it's just out of the goodness of his heart--this is Sylar we're talking about here, after all. I've been seeing a lot of rampant speculation that she has a power and he's going to kill her for it, and I wouldn't be too surprised if that's the case. But on the other hand...in "Six Months Ago," Sylar said his parents were "insignificant," which essentially indicates that they don't have powers. Hmmm. Mysteries, mysteries.

One thing that does not excite me about the preview for next week is that Sylar's reverting back to his dorky Gabriel Gray hairdo. Honestly, that boy changes hairstyles more often than some people change their socks. In any case, it had better not be a permanent transformation--he's so much hotter with the spikes and the stubble.

But back to the preview for next week...another thing I'm intrigued about is that they're bringing back Molly Walker, the little girl that Sylar tried to abduct from the FBI building (after he killed her parents). She must have a really amazing power if she's "the only one who can stop Sylar." She's what, seven years old? What's she going to do, melt his murderous heart with her adorableness? More mysteries. Is it Monday yet?

I would also like to state, for the record, that thetoofster finally admitted that Sylar is hot. MOO HA HA.

yay 5yg, x-men, heroes
