today was the shift from hell
damnit, I still can't believe how much work today sucked. Its like everyone and their dog that had a notion to complain about the stupidest things decided to call upon groves after 4:15 when I started. first there was this lady who was pissed off because her decaf coffee was too cold and for her the worst thing in the world is a cold cup of coffee, i was going to give her another one, but then she complained that it'd be just as cold, so I went over to the devil cappucino machine and did a cup from there, which I don't think we are allowed to do, but I really just wanted her to leave, then she got mad at me again when I told her that I couldn't take her 'cold' cup of coffee back over the counter and that she'd have to throw it in the trashcan herself, then she said in a snotty tone that there wasn't a trashcan liner in that trashcan, bah, okay done with number one...
the second bitchy guest tonight was actually literally right behind the first one in line, and ordered a cappuchino, then came back a minute or two later saying that she didn't want to be a pain, but 'this is the worst cappuchino, I've ever had in my life,' in my head I think no duh its terrible, its not even a real cappuchino, I offered to give her something else instead, but she just wanted it credited back to her card, and was a little pissed when i said I couldn't reverse the charge, and that I could only give her cash back. then she went off on how i should really get it fixed because it was just so terrible...believe me lady, I have called that fucking machine in numerous times, only to have it have the crappiest coffee on the planet come out of it, just like it was before dacs fixed it again. but these first 2 complainers are nothing compared to the WORST GUEST I HAVE EVER HAD, whom also just happened to be a disney employee, go figure.
anyways this guy comes by with this kid wanting to use 4 of these complimentary popcorn/soda bottle tickets. first he's kind of pissed off that he couldn't use the ticket for a slush, then says he wants 3 lemonades and a coffee, it takes me a second to get up the special cast menu, and when there is only water that says is valid here I tell him so, he then tells me that its all the same price and that it shouldn't matter, I tell him I can't do that, so he says that he isn't leaving till he gets his drinks and tells me to get someone who knows what they're doing to help him. I call gt to come over, and tanya comes over and tells him the same thing I tell him, he then tells us to get our manager over there because he wasn't leaving, so Kristin comes over and tells him that you can't get the lemonade on it, and he gets really pissed and starts yelling that it doesn't matter to the company if 4 lemonades are taken and that this is the worst service he's EVER had and that he doesn't deserve to be treated like this. so kristen calmly tells him where he can redeem his stuff, and he says he's going to complain, and he asks for her name because he wants to report this. damnit, it was just so unbelievable. bah, i've never had a guest that made me think i'd rather do something like slit my wrists or gouge out my eyes, but thank you, you asshole, today you made me feel that way. to top it off, what pissed me off even more, is that he was a fucking disney cast member, i wish i could've found out his name or where he worked because he was completely and wholey out of line on all that he was freaking out on. when kristen told him sorry he said that its not a matter of being sorry, he said we should feel bad for making the people behind him wait so long in line, when the only thing that was holding up the line was his own stupid fat self.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, and now I have to be back at work to open that damn place at 8:45 am, i'm really nervous because I've never opened groves before, i've been trained a few weeks ago, but haven't done it on my own before, i just hope i get it done and all set so i can open on time. i'm scheduled till 5:15 or something, but'll probably be ER'd since they seem to like doing that right now, and then making everyone else extremely shorthanded. I think i might go over to epcot to the food and wine festival one last time since the last day is sunday, maybe i could drink myself into oblivion, or at least a nice happy stupor for at least an hour, i could use a drink or something like that about now...
