wednesday nights are always really long for us. We start at about 5 or 6 in the afternoon, working on our senior projects up in the "studio" (we actually don't have a studio, the 4 to 10 of us use one of the drawing rooms on campus), take an hour break to watch LOST at 10pm, then head back to the studio to work, usually 'til about 6am when we take a break to get breakfast. After that, the sun comes up and it officially becomes Thursday. Once we leave, some keep working but most of us scatter. Then we have our class critiques at 9:30am-12:30pm
Sometimes we do this other nights too, Mondays are a given, but not usually as late.
Anyhow, so we had our last critique in my Thursday senior project, and it went great overall; but the big news is that I finally got a chance to see what my best work from the last 3 years here looks like standing next to the newer stuff. I had to bring all the best out so I could try and plan some consistency when we hang our senior show up on May 1st, which I expected to be harder since I was changing my style and media so much over my time here that I thought it'd all look so all-over-the-place; but luckily the better stuff looked like it was on the same level.
Anyways, it was great. Highlight came in getting pointers on my gigantic Public Enemy painting from teachers I hadn't had much chance to talk with since my first year here, one of which I feel like I haven't even seen smile in that long, until this morning when he was checking out our work. It seriously made my day
