A Night On The Town

When I was in high school we didn't live far from 2nd City.  My senior year it was a regular Saturday night to get in line and hope to be able to see a show.  I'm not sure how it works now, but at that time they had a regular 10pm show and when it was over the patrons had the choice to stay and watch the improv show or they could head home for the night.  The amount of people that left was then the amount pulled form the line to view the final set for free.

So here I am many years later living in Charlotte and a friend says to me her and her hubby need a night on the town.  Since I live close to and work in the city could I plan it out.  I checked out our local comedy club and they had Jim Belushi on the ticket for the weekend.  He'd be fun and funny so bought some tickets expecting to see Jim do some stand up.

To my pleasant surprise Jim was touring with a group of 4 other comedians (including Larry Joe Campbell) and he didn't do stand up at all.  The 5 gave a show of improve EXACTLY like the old shows I used to watch at 2nd City.  It was a hilarious and nostalgic night for me.  FUN FUN FUN, I think I laughed more last night in the span of two hours than I normally do in a week.

There was also a lot of drinking, dinner, several bars and a mechanical bull involved in this night one the town.
