So I just have to share my recent wonder with all who appreciate science and handsome fellas at the same time.
British handsome fellas even. With Manchester accents.
It's not too often you get scientists that are well-known by the general public. You've got your Albert Einstein and your Stephen Hawking; Carl Sagan with his storyteller voice (also a bit handsome, actually).
So I just want to promote the next guy, you know? He's known by the public in Britain through his documentaries and television appearances. He's rock 'n' roll but also sweet. He's the David Cook of particle physics. (Haha, I only thought of that just now, but it's sorta true. Because he was also in a band.)
Dr. Brian Cox, OBE, Royal Society Fellow, CERN researcher, professor at the University of Manchester. IS 43 YEARS OLD. That guy. Up there. ^^^ Is 43.
Yeah.
sara84 and I have been giggling like schoolgirls over this lad for several days now, and so I figured I'd better share with others too because I have the kinds of friends who would find the physicist part just as sexyhot as the actual sexyhot parts. He's fab because he is patient, clear, and even humors the joking questions people ask -- with brilliant answers! And thus, everyone should fall in love with him right now.
Here he is being brilliant, charming, adorable and even (especially!) amusing on an episode of QI. (It's the whole episode, but a few minutes will do -- he doesn't get too involved until a few minutes in though.)

And then
this is what I imagine his classroom must be like.
Guh. Someone enroll me at U of M immediately.
