Remember Youka Nitta's Haru wo Daiteita drama Winter Cicada? Yes? Well, I had forgotten how soulripping it was until I watched it again tonight. That is one of the most heartrending historical dramas I've ever come across in me life. And it's animation. Someone I know was recently mouthing off about animation. If he wasn't such a TOTAL FUCKING HOMOPHOBE he might glean some insight from Winter Cicada. And yes, I've directed him here. Not that it will make a difference.
