disjointed thoughts

On the way to church this morning, the stratified layers of the sky reminded me of the ocean. The top section was reminiscent of frothy, roiling waves which delved into deeper shades of blue until they gave way into a dark storm cloud. Briefly, I thought of the various ocean creatures that lived at great depths and how neat some of the online ocean games for eighth graders were. Of course I would think about work while on vacation. Our 50 degree, sunny day of yesterday was giving way into our 30 degree, snowy day much too soon.

As I stopped for some chardonnay at a local grocery store, I was reminded of a dream I had. I dreamed I was driving my car with a glass of merlot in my hand. It occurred to me that it wasn't exactly legal, but so dreams go. It spilled all over my seats and the rubberized floor mat and all I could do was laugh and clean it up. Luckily, my chardonnay stayed in its bottle and brown bag container on the drive back "home".

Three of my papers near completion for tomorrow. After this, only a small summary paper and group oral exam stand in the way of the semester ending. Oh Muses, please divine for me a sense of motivation to complete this semester well.
