New York is bloody killing me (aka open forum)

With all of the money I spend on skincare, haircare and makeup you'd think I would be some kind of knockout. I'm not; my bathroom cabinet is just packed with products that I tried a few times and gave up on. I have kind of a short attention span for beauty products. If it doesn't instantly make a difference in my appearance, 97% of the time it will ( Read more... )

i tried dove shampoo and conditioner and intense repair thing. i loved it so much i've tried and started using more of their product line: the foaming facial wash, deordorant, hairspray and anti-frizz serum. the face wash is gentle and i only use the one product now, but i still like the blotting sheets, because nothing will keep me from getting oily in the summer. i bought the deordant because i found it on sale for $2, and i really like it, and it really does make your underarms smoother. i like their stuff because it works and is really gentle.

i'm also a beauty-product-aholic. i just tried a tresemme shampoo and conditioner, a smooth and silky flavor or something; and hated it. maybe because i have curly hair, but i couldn't get a brush through even an inch of my hair... not even the bangs.

i like to switch up my shampoo/conditioner, and i love infusium. i've heard good things about head and shoulders too, lots of moisture.

i also use this hair stuff called fixative, it a sparkly green in a clear bottle with purle writing. its a mousse/gel and detangler in one, you put it in before you comb it out and i love it. it makes my hair pretty and manageable and it lasts a long time because you don't need a lot. you have to get it from beauty shops.

as far as sweating... my brother gets prescription deordorant and my sister uses this stuff that you put on at night and it seals your pores; i don't know the name but it comes in a box at the drug store. she swears by it. i think it says that sweat has to come out somewhere, so you may start sweating somewhere else more... but i don't think she's had much of a problem with it. i've used a spray deodorant all over like a body spray and i had a roommate in college who doused herself in baby powder and that seemed to help. there's a company called slumber parties, its an adult toy line, for girls night out and they have a spray thats called between the sheets, its like a baby powder spray. i put that all over too and in my bra and it helps a lot in the summer. it smells good too.

thats a lot, sorry, i'm obsessed with products :)
ditto on the water drinking.
