The Astorian

Hi.

2007 has been big and it's still January. I moved to Astoria. I spent about $4,000 in the matter of a week. I went on the South Beach Diet. I quit my job. My relationship is not so much anymore. Read: My whole life is different.

You could ask me if I like it, but I wouldn't really have a definitive answer. There's some good and some bad. And my therapist says that's okay. Good.

I may be the only person in New York to say this, but my apartment is almost too spacious. Since I had so little when I moved in, I had to spend the 4Gs just to make it look like someone actually lives there. I bought a ridiculous TV, but it is sooooo worth it. And I got the silly things like a bed, dresser, nightstand, couch and coffeetable. My kitchen table will be here Saturday. Not that I will ever eat there, but I can pretend when people come over. I need things for my walls and a trash can. I've been to like ALL of the stores on Steinway and NONE of them can sell me a freaking trash can! Ho hum. But the new place is good. The furnace always sounds like it's going to blow up and the woman who lives in the house to the left of me has a camera on her front steps that takes pictures of you when you walk by, but other than that Astoria is just ducky. Oh, and
pistashio2 lives just five blocks from me!

And yes, I quit THC. It was liberating after I got out the whole "I know there's never a good time for this, but...." thing out. And once I got over the feeling that I was going to throw up. But now I feel superb. SUPER-B. And CBB was eerily sane when I gave my two weeks (and two days). I'm going to an agency, which I know has a stigma, but I'm sort of looking forward to working my ass off for a little while. I may learn something. Actually, I'm counting on it. But if I only learn that I don't want to be in publicity anymore, then I've accomplished something.

I keep cheating on South Beach, but I also keep losing weight, so I think that proves how bad my eating habits were before. I was the not-so-superhero known as Bad Carb Girl.

Perhaps that's enough information for one entry.
