Yesterday, I walked around the financial district. I never once did that before. It's a sad looking place. All the buildings mirror each other in their tall silvery monumence, and not one person who I passed had a smile on their face. What's with that? I looked down the street to see, still, a slew of people gathered at the World Trade Center's former site and they were all in amazement as steps are still being taken to clean up and preserve the area. Scary. I didn't bother to even forge near there and decided to find a bookstore and sit down instead. I did so, purchased the the new AP, with The Starting Line on the cover. Good article. They really do appreciate their fans and every show I've gone to, they have looked overworked yet stayed to sign and take photos with every single person who came up to them. I know alot of bands who wouldn't do that. They've worked hard and had to develop a following in a separate state than their own because in their town people wanted to stab them. Tough love, I tell ya, and I bet everyone in their town adores them now. What idiots.
After that, Des and Alanna came into the city to hang out with Little Miss Boredom, and we went to get some dinner and ice cream on the pier. We hung out there for a while and walked to my dorm where we watched some horribly funny asian dubbed movie before leaving to go to the Sunshine Theatre on Houston which was showing 'The Goonies' at midnight. We decided that since it was such a beautiful night, we would greet walker-bys with either "Good Evening" or the infamous "Cha-Ching" complete with hand movements. Some people responded and others just looked with complete disgust. I think we get that kind of reaction everywhere we go, because we're such funsters.
So, we watched the movie and it was greatness and it was just so much better seeing it on the big screen, even though that is so cliched. Alanna and I were getting into the movie completely, shouting things and claping and screaming, it was hilarious. Des sat stoic in her seat, barely blinking. She didn't like it at all, and I couldn't understand why. 'The Goonies' has cute little boys, pirate adventure, chase scenes, and if not for the mere comedy of Chunk, it would prove to be great anyway. Des, I hope you're reading...You're NUTS! THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVIES OF ANY CHILD BORN IN THE 80s' youth. Anyway, it's rainy now, and I hate it, and I need to find something to do. Class starts tomorrow and my last day of freedom is spent inside, NOOOOOO!
