"I have no plans to see this movie. Like Dawn, I do not like blood and violence. As far as what significance it has for us as pagans, I don’t think there will be any significant impact. This movie appeals to Christians who want to validate their beliefs and for the over-zealous “born-agains” who are using it as a tool to try and convert non-believers. I think focusing on the brutality and death is a distortion of what his life actually means to most Christians. They make it sound like he was the only person to have this happen. In fact, this was common Roman practice of the day for all those they perceived as criminals. As for all the controversy over the anti-Semitic theme, according to some interpretations of the Bible, the Jewish people did reject Jesus, so in fact can be seen as responsible for his death. However, holding Jewish people today accountable for something that happened thousands of years ago makes no more sense than holding present-day Germans accountable for the actions of Hitler. Well, there’s my two-cents worth."
