Tonks nodded slightly to Charlie’s comment, and then curled up as best she could against the half naked man beside her. A yawn broke forth from her tense jaw, and she knew once she shut down and received sleep’s efficacious kiss, she would be gone to travel into dreams. But for a moment, she could not rest, or give in to the slumber breaking down her anxiety. Her mind was still working hard to put together the right pieces and give Tonks some answers. How did they end up this way? Why did they involve themselves with each other so adamantly? Did she mean to kiss Charlie, or was she just a stupid drunk? Drinking doesn’t cause euphoria does it?
Tonks sighed, realizing her mental scrambles were going in circles, and so she forced her eyes closed. Charlie was still as a stone now, but carefully she ran a hand down his neck to make sure he was assured she was alright. He did seem worried about her. She was worried about herself. She wondered for a moment, while dizziness started, if things would be strange now between them, and if Charlie would treat her differently. Somehow she couldn’t shake the feeling that she had botched shite up, and things would only get worse. Then the lights went out, and she slept.
