A date with Lavender

Ron was moving about the apartment, absolutely delighted with the changes he and Katie had made. Their combined effort, with Katie's logic to add flowers in strategic locations, transformed his drab place into a small palace. He wished he had thought of doing this before; he just never really worried about what the place had looked like.
He moved to the stove, and checked on the progress of the food. He was making a vegetable soup and some hot ham and cheese sandwiches. The meal was not that fancy; he could cook but he wasn't very good and the last thing he wanted to do was ruin his first meal that he would cook for her. He had made the soup from the recipe in the book. His real challenge had been the cake. It was cooking now, and gave the place a rich chocolaty aroma. He was excited; he couldn't believe he was having her over for dinner. He tried to calm the panic that bubbled up inside him.
His talk with Katie had made all of the difference. She had helped sooth his fears, and given him a womanly perspective that he sorely wanted. He hoped that whatever she decided, it would work out for the best for her and Charlie. Looking around the place, he was so impressed that he thought he should make sure to invite Hermione and Harry over to hang out. He looked at the time, and flew back to the bathroom to make sure he was decent.
