How cruel the fates

Time: Late Afternoon
Location: Malfoy Manor

After getting Lucius' owl, Daphne quickly finished up making the chocolates she had been preparing and threw on her cloak. Mrs. Flume had been beside her when the letter arrived and spent a good half hour just holding her for comfort. Daphne let a few tears slip, she wasn't suppose to cry. In her house that was frowned upon as weakness. If Mrs. Flume hadn't been there to act as a mother, Daphne would've taken one of the sharp pieces of glass that sat from a broken mirror to her skin. She couldn't handle bad events. Still her hand bled from hitting the mirror in the first place, and this made her feel slightly better.
She looked the the table full of different chocolates and half smiled, though it didn't show in her eyes. Quickly throwing several different kinds of chocolates into three medium sized bags, Daphne walked outside and apparated to the Malfoy Manor.
How could this happen? Why would he be out alone where the beast could get him? No logical thoughts were going through her mind, only fear and worry. She didn't know how to react to something like this. What if he had been changed? Then what could she do?
Even with all the beauty that was the front yard of the Malfoy Manor, Daphne was lost in her thoughts. With a deep breath and a basket of chocolates in her hand, she knocked on the door. This was terrible and Daphne knew she'd have to keep tears back from her eyes.
